Facts About D.I.C.E:
-DICE stands for Drug Intervention Community Educators.-DICE is the youth branch of the East Providence Substance Abuse Prevention Task Force and we are a non-profit organization.-DICE presently has about 72 members ages 12-21, who are mainly from the Riverside, Rumford and East Providence vicinity but you can live anywher to join! Anyone going into the 7th-12th grade can join now!-DICE meets once a week at the East Providence City Hall (see directions) from 6-8pm on Wednesday evenings. Events are scheduled throughout the week as well.-DICE is a year round group which is planned by youth and for youth and the greater community at large. In the past 9 1/2 years we have either planned, organized, hosted and/or attended over 700 events.-Absolutely everything that DICE does is completely optional, so if you don't like any specific aspect of it, That's OK! Here's a few of the many things in which we do or have done:*Soup Kitchens*Nursing Home Visits*Skit Writing and Theater Performances*Planned and Hosted a Charity Ball*Lock-Ins *Teach Prevention in Elementary Schools (Teens Teaching the Truth)*Attend Conferences all over the state and beyond*Environmental Clean-ups*Adopt Families for the holiday seasons*Activities at local and state-wide festivals/events.*Organized/participated in a smoke-free rallies/events*Hold substance abuse free dances*Helped plan RI's first America's Promise Teen Summit*Food drives/hunger petitions*Difference Makers International Blue Ribbon Campaign*Created and competed in Mocktail Contests*Face paint and pass out info at community events*Fun Trips: Haunted Houses, Amusement Parks, Limo Scavenger Hunts*Sponsor An Overseas Child from Phillipines-DICE is more than just a group of youth planning and attending events, it is a group of friends that truly care and support one another.
